Donor Spotlight

Seton Home is blessed to have the support of the community through donations of their time, talent and treasures. Some are able to give their money—which is critical in providing the care our precious moms and their children need. Still others are able to give their precious time and donations of items both of which go a long way to offset the cost of running our facility.

Take a moment to read the story about an unsung hero—those who have given what they see is a little but goes a long way in making our teens and their children's lives happy and healthy.

Ann has personally been a friend to Seton Home since 1996 but her connection to Seton Home goes back to our beginning in 1981. Seton Home is celebrating its 30^th year of operation, and I wanted to spotlight Ann for all she has done for Seton Home over the
past 15 years, as well as, for what her family has done. Ann is the daughter of Mary Agnes Crawford, one of the founding women of Seton Home in 1981 at our original N. Alamo Street location. Mrs. Crawford was one of a few women in the Catholic Daughters Association who was instrumental in launching Seton Home. In the past, Ann had been active in the St. Vincent DePaul's Alter Society, who has a large diaper drive every Christmas for our residents. Ann was a stay at home mom of five before working and retiring from Frost Bank after twenty years of service. When asked what she appreciated most about Seton Home, Ann commented, "You [Seton Home] are taking girls in during such a stressful time. These girls might have been abused, abandoned, and shunned, but you take them in and give them love." Ann had a wonderful idea for Seton Home to begin sending out envelopes allowing individuals to make donations in someone else's name. Ann's comment to me was, "I am at a point in my life where I don't necessarily need material things, but it would make me feel good to know that I was able to further help Seton Home through other people."

We are grateful for everything Ann and her family has done for Seton Home since 1981.
